Travelling to Monmouth
Monmouth has a peaceful location surrounded by beautiful countryside, green fields and wooded hills, yet it is easily accessible by car from the M4 and M5 motorways.
Travelling from Gloucester it is reached via the A40, and from the Midlands, via the M5 and M50. Coming from the M4 corridor, you will travel from the Severn Bridge via the A466; or from the Prince of Wales Bridge (the second Severn Crossing) and South Wales, via the A449.
Close to Monmouth are Tintern Abbey, Raglan, Goodrich, Usk, and Chepstow Castles; the market towns of Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye; open countryside at Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and the Black Mountains.
Brecon, Hereford, Gloucester, Bristol, and Cardiff are all within an hour’s drive, making Monmouth an ideal base for sightseeing in glorious landscapes, or shopping in modern cities.
